So, last week before break, and we got today off of school to boot. Not bad, eh? Well, I guess that means it was a good idea to start tests yesterday, because it likely means higher scores in general. I know I'd have done a lot worse next year than I probably did yesterday, anyways. Regardless, on to my synopsis.
So the test. It wasn't actually all that bad, I was kind of expecting something difficult when I realized just how far back Chapter 4 or 5 or whatever we're on goes. I mean, I hardly remember Mean Value Theorem, and I think we learned that back around exam week. If that's right, we just took what was essentially a midterm, seeing as we're already a month in. Wow, time sure does fly by. Anyways, I was the first one done by a longshot. I don't know if that's really a good thing or not, but I felt like I was doing everything correctly. My answers appeared to make sense and I'm fairly confident that the problems only required getting to the point where you could derivate the problem, then finding the maximum of that. I guess I'll see come January 6th (?) huh? Regardless, the test was a lot more review than I expected. The whole first page and the non-calculator portion were both things we'd seen and done before, and mostly consisted of finding the derivative and circling what it was. Really not bad, and I think the people who wound up missing those wound up failing the test, and I have to wonder how they even made it this far. Naturally, saying that means that I'll miss one of those due to a stupid error, but whatever. All in all, it was a successful (at the very least, deceptively) test that we took, and I'm rather confident that I'll have a good score to come back to later.
Most of the week was spent working up towards the test, so I've not got much left to say. We've got an optimization project due on Monday, but that won't be too hard to complete when I get around to it. Hopefully. I'll be honest, that project is incredibly inconvenient, especially given that my partner is constantly busy, leaving very little time to actually get together and finish it. In the future, I hope we're able to have some class time to do these kinds of things, if only to ease the burden they place outside of class. Anyways, that's all for this week and the next two, so I'll be back and updating regularly early next year. In the meantime, though, Happy Holidays!
