So, I'm doing this last second, I only just remembered that I needed to do this. Better late than never though, right? On with the post!
This week was primarily focused on the test that we were to take on Wednesday and Thursday. Sadly, the test failed to fully materialize, what with the two days off of school throwing everything off. We did wind up taking the first part on Thursday though, so we got a little bit in before exams. It was actually fairly easy, in my opinion, although there were a few things that I wasn't completely sure on. Being multiple choice and allowing calculators helped a whole lot though, and guess and check managed to fill in the empty gaps where my memory failed me. Hopefully that carries over into my grade as well. I actually managed to finish the first part fast enough to get to the second, which, while it wasn't necessarily harder, was significantly more time consuming. I was unable to finish it, which is probably for the best (now I won't be sitting around ALL hour waiting for everyone else, it'll only be about half of the hour) and I'll finish it come Monday.
We also got our quizzes back from last week, and I must say, I did very well. If memory serves, I got a perfect score plus one point of extra credit for being able to recognize the decimal form of root three over two and opting to put the answer in exact form. On a related note, I really wish I had a calculator that could do that for me, there are plenty more obscure fractions with radicals that I'd never be able to come up with on my own, and exact form is so much... neater, and friendlier than the garbled mess that is approximate form. Also, fractions just look cleaner than decimals, an opinion that might not be shown through my work. I think I tend to display an affinity for decimals, I'll often write .5 or .25 instead of their fractional counterparts. I'm getting off topic though, back to the quiz. As I said, it went very well, and I couldn't be happier with the score I got.
There's really not that much left to say at this point, that encompasses the week quite nicely. Having had only three days to work with, we didn't get a lot done at all, cutting our review time for the exam down by a couple days. We'll see how that turns out next week. Anyways, I'm off for now, I'll update again in one or two weeks!
